【創作自述】《白境之形-楊智偉》White Territory - Yang Chih-Wei

生活環境丶成長背景丶生命體驗皆是我創作內涵的啓發點，如果能藉由藝術創作來傳達我對於這個世界的某些感受丶想法或者經歷的話，那麼生命對我而言便有另外一層的意義了。雖然藝術創作無法客觀地具體呈現世界的完整性，但相對來說卻也藉由主觀意識的認知底下來表現出藝術面貌的多樣性質，這也更加突顯了藝術所具有的特殊性與本質，既人與世界的直接關聯性。

I am inspired by my surroundings, my background and every encounter in life. If I am able to convey my feelings, my thoughts and my experience toward this world through art, life has transcended to another level. Art does not present the world in an objective and comprehensive light. However, it is precisely the subjective consciousness that highlights a unique, essential and multifaceted quality of art, its unhindered connection to the people and the world.

       ＂白境之形＂意在探尋我個人內在的心象世界，藉由單純的＂形＂與＂色＂來體現自我內在的精神空間，用極感性的狀態去感受這世界，用極理性的行為去呈現這世界。試圖把我所觀察到的世界轉化成為純粹的形與色，沒有指示性亦無敍述性，更加沒有複雜的繪畫方式被帶入其中，只有純粹的幾何抽象元素成為了我的表現手法，再加上大量留白的畫面空間，企圖營造推展出我所追求的內在精神空間。

White Territory explores my inner state and expresses the spiritual realm within me through the pure “form” and “color”. I feel the world with utmost sensibility and present it with utmost rationality. I try to transform the world in my eyes into the pure form and color, without indication and narration, without complicated painting techniques. Only the simplistic geometric and abstract elements remain, while leaving the large void, attempting to build the inner spirituality that I seek.

       純粹的幾何型態能夠牽引出我所追求的空間性質，色彩色塊的運作在我的作品裡扮演著重要的元素，色彩的使用呈現上能有助於我對空間氛圍的詮釋，而單一色塊的型態或其邊緣皆能創造出空間感，也因此色彩的本質及色塊的空間體感兩者相互建構形塑出屬於我的精神世界。

The pure geometric forms draw out the spatial quality that I desire while the blocks and colors become important elements. The colors help interpret the spatial nuances while the form or edges of the monochromatic blocks delineate a sense of space. The quintessence of colors and the spatial nuance created by the color blocks thus build upon each other and define my spiritual world.

從現在的角度往回觀看，我有十年的時光不曾創作，一直在現實生活中不停打轉，直到去年又回歸了創作的世界，才深深體會到原來＂它＂一直藏於我心，不管外在因素如何變遷，那個藝術的靈魂依然存在。

        ＂白境之形＂這個題目可分為兩個意思作為解讀：一是＂白境＂，我詮譯為精神性丶心靈層次的內化空間。一是＂之形＂，是指引動我創作的外在之事物，並取之其特徵來作為構成之造型。也因此在＂內＂與＂外＂之間拉扯底下，我期望能找到屬於自己應有的位置，做出表現，具體呈現出自己的想要作品樣態。

        十年空窗，時間洗禮了思維，過往創作表現為幾何抽象作為元素，以色塊堆疊出空間，那是當時所追求的表現形式。然而從此刻在回頭看去，似是形式綁架了內容，幾何圖形成了構圖中最為重要的架構，如今＂白境之形＂的系列作品讓我往後退了一步看著自己的位置，試圖讓內化的精神空間被呈現出來，把幾何圖形色塊的影響降至最低限度，把內在心象空間放至最大，如此是形式上的後退卻是精神上的往前，而這是我再次回歸創作的最大不同之處。
